  1. Sign up for a free Canva account at canva.com, If you haven’t already. It’s free to start!
  2. Audit your favorite business’s social media presence: Choose one business and observe their posting style, visuals, and engagement strategy.
  3. Brainstorm your first 5 social media post ideas you would want to create for your business.

After this Session, you should work on refining the Marketing Strategy portion of your business plan:

  • Content Strategy: Define your brand voice and identify types of content (educational, promotional, inspirational, etc.) you will create.
  • Social Media Plan: Choose the primary platform(s) you will focus on (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok, etc.) and outline a basic posting schedule.
  • Branding Guidelines: Establish basic visual branding rules (color palette, fonts, image style) to ensure a consistent and professional look.
  • Campaign Planning: Draft an idea for your first major campaign or promotion after launching your business.
